Here's how to get all of those necessary supplies with the best back-to-school sales around. Use this Back-to-School Stock-up Price List to determine if you’re getting the best deal.

1. Buy pencils at Staples when they run back-to-school sales for $0.25 a box

If you want name-brand pencils, then watch for Amazon to price their Ticonderoga #2 pencils for $9.96 for 96 pencils, making them just $0.10 each! This is one of our favorite deals to buy pencils in bulk.

2. Buy crayons at Walmart when they’re $0.50 per 24-pack.

It’s easy to get Crayola crayons for under KCL stock-up prices when you combine a coupon or an Ibotta rebate with a sale.

3. Buy rulers at Office Depot when they reach $0.25 each.

Office Depot always drops prices on rulers for back-to-school shopping because they know it’ll get you into the store — and let’s face it, they’re probably right.

4. Buy glue sticks at Walmart when they’re $0.25 each.

You can find Elmer’s brand glue — both liquid and glue sticks — for cheaper than the generic version at Walmart for back-to-school shopping.

5. Buy calculators at Dollar Tree for $1.00.

Paying $1.00 plus tax is a great way to save on super expensive back-to-school supplies.

6. Buy hand sanitizer at Target when it’s $1.25 — or less — per bottle.

We saw this happen last year with Purell hand sanitizer. A good stock-up price for an 8-ounce bottle is $1.25. But we got it at Target for $0.37 per bottle! When you can combine a coupon, a Cartwheel discount and a rebate-app offer at Target, it basically rains money. And if you haven’t downloaded Target’s app, then you should probably do that right now. The app has Cartwheel inside, which will get you tons of coupons and in-store discounts.

7. Buy colored pencils at Family Dollar when they’re $1.00 per pack.

Stock up on colored pencils when they reach $1.00 or less for a 12-pack. Last year, Family Dollarmarked Crayola colored pencils down to $1.00/12-pack. This is a must-have for your back-to-school supplies list!

8. Buy spiral notebooks at Walmart when they reach $0.25 each.

Two years ago, spiral notebooks went for $0.17 each at Walmart. This was the best price we’ve ever seen. Last year, we could only find them for $0.25 each at Walmart. It’ll have to do!

9. Buy facial tissue at Walgreens when it’s under $1.00 per box.

10. Buy disinfecting wipes at
Target when they’re $0.04 per wipe.

Target has the best Lysol deals, and you’ll likely be able to get them for under $0.04 per wipe during back-to-school sales, which is the KCL stock-up price.

11. Buy folders at Office Depot when they’re $0.15 each.

You can find 2-pocket folders at Office Depot for as low as $0.15 each during the back-to-school shopping season.

12. Buy ballpoint pens at Target when they’re $0.07 each.

Aim to spend no more than $0.07 per pen anywhere you shop, and keep an eye out for Bic couponsbecause last year there was a $1.00 off Bic coupon. A package of 10 pens is $0.99 at Target, so this coupon made it so they were free. My favorite back-to-school shopping is the free kind!

13. Buy scissors at Walmart for $0.50 each.

In 2018 we saw children’s scissors for $0.50 at Walmart. Walmart offered a rollback price on Fiskars — no coupons needed!

14. Buy composition notebooks at Staples when they’re $0.50 each.

Composition notebooks typically reach as low as $0.50 each at Staples — sale price! No coupons necessary.

15. Buy lunch boxes at Old Navy when they go on clearance for less than $5.00.

In July 2018 we saw Old Navy put lunch boxes on clearance for just $4.97, down from $12.00! That’s a pretty sweet savings on cute and insulated lunch boxes.
